One Book, One Vancouver: Time to vote!

The Vancouver Public Library has opened up voting for the annual One Book, One Vancouver program, which is aimed at getting the entire city to read the same book and thereby increasing “our sense of community by creating a common topic of conversation.”

The three short-listed books for 2010 are:

  • The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
  • The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  • The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

I think they’re all excellent choices, but I’ll be voting for The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, as it’s the one I haven’t read yet and has been on my Fill the Gap list for ages.

Voting is open until June 24. Visit the One Book, One Vancouver page or fill in a ballot at any VPL branch to make your pick.
