Rain, rain and more rain. This year’s Chilly Chase 15K event should have been renamed the “Soaked Shuffle”. The rain started early and didn’t let up.

Starting from the Athletes Village neighbourhood along False Creek, the race followed an out-and-back route up the Seawall and around Stanley Park’s Lost Lagoon.

Chilly Chase 15KWe kept a relatively slow pace; this was actually the furthest my husband had run up to this point, and we didn’t want to risk injury. I even had time to live-tweet the race… as I was running it. Sadly, the result was that we were among the last people to cross the finish line.

Chilly Chase 15KOn the bright side, the post-run brunch of dungeness crab eggs benedict at Glowbal was well-earned and delicious!

Check out the Garmin activity report for this race.

Next up? We fly to Orlando for the Disney Princess Half Marathon.
